Joyce VanWye was devoted to preserving Music Hall - Cincinnati.com

Published 7:32 AM EDT Mar 31, 2017 When Joyce Elizabeth VanWye worked as subscription manager for Cincinnati Opera at Music Hall, she began to notice that areas of the historic building looked shabby. She vowed to do something about it. “A lot of things needed to be addressed and they weren’t being addressed, such as paint and carpeting,” she told The Enquirer in 2012. “It was looking shabby and I didn’t want it to look shabby. The symphony, opera, ballet and May Festival all had some kind of support group. I just thought Music Hall ought to have a support group.” Mrs. VanWye bumped into Jean Reis, who worked for the Corbett Foundation, and asked, “What can we do about some kind of support for Music Hall?” She approached high-powered donors, including arts patrons Louise Nippert, Patricia Corbett, Elizabeth “Betty” Herschede and Manny Mayerson. Loveland High School student killed in weekend accident - Cincinnati.com

Updated 2:15 PM EST Mar 6, 2017 Loveland High School freshman Faith Anslinger, 16, was killed in a car accident Saturday, March 4. “Our thoughts and our prayers are with her family and friends,” Loveland Superintendent Chad Hilliker said in a video message to the district posted on Monday morning. Friends of Anslinger wore red to school on Monday to honor her. She celebrated her 16th birthday the day before the accident. Hilliker said members of the crisis intervention team were at the school for anyone who needed someone to talk to. “We have people working behind the scenes right now to help students. If you have a child or you are a student and need assistance please talk to an administrator or to your counselors,” Hilliker said. A GoFundMe page was sent up for Anslinger’s funeral arrangements. Donations can be made through the page or directly to the funeral home at Craver-Riggs Funeral Home & Crematory, 529 Main St., Milford, OH 45150. The family is planning a public visitation and a private funeral. Visitation times have yet to be announced. The accident occurred in Gallatin County, Kentucky, and is being investigated by the Kentucky State Police.
